Louis de Beer
Legal Practice Director

Louis is a highly experienced legal practice director and solicitor who founded NXT Legal& Compliance in 2018. He leads a multidisciplinary legal and compliance practice that offers a seamless, “one-stop shop” for financial services licensees, investment managers, lenders, developers, and property professionals. With extensive in-house and leadership credentials—having served as CEO, CFO, and corporate counsel across in international corporations in the USA, New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia—Louis excels in financial services, investment management, credit licensing, lending, property law, securitisation, business turnaround and pre-insolvency work, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial litigation.



David Palmer
Consultant

David  is an accomplished accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser who leads the tax function at NXT Legal& Compliance. He also brings specialist experience in liquidations investigations through his work with Blue Ink Advisory. David holds senior industry credentials as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants, Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, and Fellow of the Tax Institute, and is also a Member of the Institute of Managers and Leaders. He is authorised as a Commissioner for Declarations, a Registered ASIC Agent, and a Registered Tax Agent. Sam Baker
Paralegal

Sam is in his fifth year of study for  double bachelors degrees in psychology and law at QUT. He is a strong academic and enjoys assisting with the drafting of advice in the areas of financial services, corporate and commercial law and has been assisting in litigation including with several complex supreme court matters, as well as assisting in ASIC enquiries and formulating and prosecuting AFCA complaints.

Cassidy van Zyl
Paralegal

Cassidy is in her third year of study at Griffith University for her Bachelors of Laws and is intending to make her career as a corporate and commercial solicitor in private practice once admitted. She has experience in assisting with corporate and commercial structuring, incorporation of companies and registration of trusts, and is currently working on her conveyancing qualifications to further her career in property. Cassidy enjoys assisting with court appearances and drafting submissions and sees herself working in litigation as well.

Katie has a biomed degree from the University of Canberra, but has a strong interest in accounting and financial services. Katie is currently furthering her tertiary studies in accounting and is intending to become a certified public accountant and tax agent.
