Louis is an experienced legal practice director and solicitor who founded NXT Legal & Compliance in 2018. He leads a multidisciplinary legal and compliance practice that offers a seamless, “one-stop shop” for financial services licensees, investment managers, lenders, developers, and property professionals. With extensive in-house and leadership credentials—having served as CEO, CFO, and corporate counsel across in international corporations in the USA, New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia—Louis excels in financial services, investment management, credit licensing, lending, property law, securitisation, business turnaround and pre-insolvency work, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial litigation.
Tax Consultant
David is an accomplished accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser who leads the tax function at NXT Legal & Compliance. He also brings specialist experience in liquidations investigations through his work with Blue Ink Advisory. David holds senior industry credentials as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants, Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, and Fellow of the Tax Institute, and is also a Member of the Institute of Managers and Leaders. He is authorised as a Commissioner for Declarations, a Registered ASIC Agent, and a Registered Tax Agent.
Conveyancer
Belinda Palmer brings over two decades of experience in property law as a highly respected conveyancer. Known for her precision, professionalism, and care, she has guided countless clients through buying, selling, and transferring property. With exceptional attention to detail and a client-focused approach, Belinda ensures every transaction is smooth, transparent, and stress-free.
Paralegal
Cas is NXT’s dedicated law clerk specialising in wills, estates, trusts, and structuring. Currently completing her Bachelor of Laws, she blends legal knowledge with exceptional organisation and client care. Cas ensures seamless administration and fosters a collaborative, professional workplace culture while providing efficient, personalised support across all areas of the firm’s operations.

Sam is a dedicated paralegal at NXT, currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology and Law. Focusing on litigation, he assists in preparing court documents, conducting research, and managing case files. His background in psychology and law provides valuable insight into complex disputes, while his efficiency and attention to detail ensure smooth legal operations across the firm.

Timothy Tomlin brings extensive experience across hospitality, sales, property development, and construction to NXT Legal & Compliance. After 15 years as a chef, he transitioned into building industry management and business development roles before founding his own construction company. Now pursuing a Bachelor of Laws, Timothy values integrity, diligence, and exceptional client service.
Accounts Administrator
With a background spanning property, contracts, administration, marketing, and photography, Steph brings creativity and precision to NXT. She manages business and trust accounts, oversees property-related transactions, and implements profit strategies with diligence. Her organisational expertise ensures financial efficiency, supporting the firm’s continued growth across its corporate, commercial, and property divisions.
Financial Compliance
Marija Pajeska has over 25 years experience in the finance industry, specialising in the field of compliance in the financial services industry. Marija commenced her career within the compliance department of the ASX (specialising in the ASX24 (formerly SFE) market) where she worked with a number of industry participants, reviewing their operations, reporting to the disciplinary committees and making recommendations on possible improvements. From there she progressed to an international organisation to head the compliance department of the Australian operations. She has worked on a number of Asia/ Pacific and international projects building and implementing compliance reporting programs. In 2005, Marija founded Pajeska Group and has since worked with a number of AFS Licensees (ranging from small to large operations) assisting them with their licensing requirements and compliance obligations.
